Financing Waste Equipment’s at 4% Interest with subsidy upto 50%
NSKFDC known as National Safai Karamcharis Finance & Development Corporation is an undertaking of Government of India, which comes under the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment.
It was setup on 24th January 1997, under Section 8 of the Companies Act, 2013. It is in operation since October, 1997, and is turning out to be an apex corporation for the Socio- Economic upliftment of the Safai Karamcharis (including waste pickers) and Manual Scavengers and their dependents.

Swachhta Udyami Yojana (SYU)
The Swachhta Udyami Yojana (SUY) of NSKFDC was introduced on October 2, 2014, which is also recognised as Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary. Its dual goals are to encourage cleanliness and provide Safai Karamcharis and uplift manual scavengers by realising the overall objective of the “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” launched by the Hon’ble Prime Minister.
Through its channelled organisations, NSKFDC under SUY delivers financial support to its target group for the acquisition and use of sanitation-related equipment and vehicles. On top of that, the SUY programme has been amended to provide direct financial aid from NSKFDC to Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) for the purchase of mechanised cleaning equipment or vehicles.
Financial assistance to Target Group through Channelizing Agencies of NSKFDC
NSKFDC under SUY is offering financial assistance to its target group through its channelizing agencies at reduced rates of interest along with capital subsidies for the purchase of mechanised cleaning equipment and vehicles necessary for cleaning septic tanks and sewers. This is done in an attempt to stimulate entrepreneurship among the target group while simultaneously encouraging automated cleaning.
Financial assistance to Urban Local Bodies (ULBs)
Under its Swachhta Udyami Yojana (SUY), NSKFDC is also offering direct financial support to Urban Local Bodies for the purchase of mechanised cleaning equipment and vehicles at reduced interest rates.
